Diabetes in Bermuda
[edit]Diabetes is a big problem in Bermuda….how are they dealing with that??? 208.98.205.14 (talk) 05:21, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
- I don't exactly agree with your information on Bermuda because this article states that St. Georges is Bermuda's capital when St. Georges hasn't been since the late 1900's. Hamilton is the current capital. In no offense do I mean this letter. In addition, we Bermudians don't wear hula skirts and live off of coconuts. Bermuda is pretty much America but smaller and the beaches don't look like cement. 209.240.34.214 (talk) 16:33, 1 February 2023 (UTC)

Magna Carta
[edit]Magna Carta doesn't require 'the' in front of it. See the Magna Carta talk page. I tried to change this, but my change was reverted. Random56653 (talk) 01:44, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
- I replied over at Talk:Magna Carta#Use of 'the' and italics when referencing Magna Carta. –Novem Linguae (talk) 02:00, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
Largest city
[edit]Shouldn't St. George's be the largest city in Bermuda? Hasayo (talk) 23:37, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
I have reverted the insertion of WP:UNDUE, WP:BIAS and WP:TE by blocked IP user as likely WP:SPA. Similar changes were made by this user to several related pages: Afro-Caribbeans, Afro-Jamaicans, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Coromantee, Mixed-race Caymanians, Slave rebellion, Tacky's Rebellion, Turks and Caicos Creole, Turks & Caicos, and others.
Having compared the diffs to see if there was anything worth keeping, I have manually restored anything with RSes or which improved prose (if there was anything). Most changes were poorly sourced and added significant bias into the article, or simply removed existing information for no policy-based reason.
For transparency, I will post this on all affected pages. Lewisguile (talk) 18:07, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- I don't have an opinion on the other changes, but the link to British West Indies in the lead sentence seems misplaced to me given that Bermuda is nowhere near the West Indies. ~~ Jessintime (talk) 15:28, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- This is a long-standing debate. Bermuda, although it is in the Atlantic, is often considered to be culturally a part of the Caribbean/West Indies, even though geographically it isn't in the Caribbean Sea. Ultimately, we must defer to what the consensus is among RSes. If consensus has shifted, it's worth looking again, but I'm not sure of any recent scholarship that would change the status quo at the moment. Lewisguile (talk) 16:44, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, the term West Indian was added by another IP a month ago [1]. Given that, I'm going to remove it. ~~ Jessintime (talk) 16:57, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- I won't object to that. There is already ample discussion of Bermuda's relationship with the Caribbean via CARICOM and the UK's administrative groupings further on in the article. That seems WP:DUE and doesn't require the statement in the lede as well. Lewisguile (talk) 17:01, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Excellent. Thank you. ~~ Jessintime (talk) 17:05, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- In fact, I think this second IP may be a sock of the first. There seem to be similar edits made across a similar set of pages. Thanks for flagging this! I will look across their other edits. Lewisguile (talk) 17:06, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

Not to be confused with the Bahamas
[edit]does anyone know why this hatnote is there? Bermuda and the Bahamas don't sound anything like each other, aside from both starting with B, and I don't know how they can be mistaken from their names alone. 🦬 Beefaloe 🦬 12:32, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
